The SALSA Peer Tutoring program aims to help students who are taking Linguistics courses by offering academic support from fellow students as an additional resource.
The program consists of FREE peer tutoring services once a week – you just have to be a SALSA member! The current courses that offer peer tutoring include:
- LING 200: Linguistic Theory and Analysis I
- LING 201: Linguistic Theory and Analysis II
- LING 300: Studies in Grammar
- LING 311: Studies in Phonology
- LING 313: Introduction to Linguistic Phonetics and Speech Science
Stay tuned for more details and schedules coming soon!
Want to get involved?
All peer tutors have previously taken the courses and excelled in them.
We are currently looking for students to tutor for the upcoming year. If you received a grade of 85% or above in LING 200, 201, 300, 311 or 313, you are eligible to tutor for that course. This is a great opportunity for students to develop their leadership and facilitation skills while also getting the opportunity to meet more students in the faculty. At the end of the semester, tutors will receive a certificate from SALSA and a letter of commendation from a member of the Linguistics Department.
If you would like to apply to be a peer tutor, please contact us at email@example.com.
